    Hello,

I am in shock at the quality and perfection that is this stop motion! American girl is awesome don’t get me wrong but have you checked out Maru and Friends dolls? They’re my most recent obsession because of their beautiful realistic looking faces and awesome outfit choices!! Maybe you could do a cool stop motion with them? I have the whole collection and I am completely in love

awesome job! The only thing I would want more of in your photo stories is better lighting. I dont even know for sure if that is a problem! I love these stop motions! keep up the good work!

Thank you very much, Samantha! Yeah, I try to get the best lighting possible, but all I have is the overhead light from the fan and my window :p. Thanks again!

Is it possible to make a stop motion with just Apple iMovie, with no other programs?

    • Molly and Madison
Molly and Madison March 10, 2016 at 3:52 pm - Reply

Yes, but it’s difficult. You take a bunch of pictures and load them into iMovie, then select all of them and make sure the crop on it is the same or none at all. Then make the duration 0.1 seconds on all of them. It will be slow, so if you have taken a lot of pictures for a smooth AGSM you’ll have to export it and then put it into another movie and speed it up according to the speed you want it. That’s how I did it with my proffesional camera, and it took a TON of work! 😛 But it’s definitely doable.

And how many pictures do you usually take to make a stopmoition?

It depends on how long the stopmotion is. My pictures run about fifteen frames (photos) per second. One time, it took over 650 pictures to make a 45-second scene! But that’s only if you want them really smooth.

Oh, okay. But how do you adjust the time per frame?

But I looked for that on the App Store but I couldn’t find it!

Really? Try searching “iMotion” instead of “iMotion HD”.

I got three imotions to show up: iMotion, iMotion remote, and iMotion pro. Which one should I get? The first one seems right, the second uses Wifi, and the third costs $3.99.

iMotion is the one you should get. iMotion remote actually lets you take the picture on another device by tapping the screen so you dont’ jiggle the device you’re stopmotioning on – it makes the scene much smoother. I use it a lot – if my wifi isn’t being annoying. 😛 Both are free.

You have a voice. I'd love to hear it!
