Q: How do I follow this blog?
A: There’s a signup form on my sidebar or right here.

You’ll be subscribed to my email list—I’ll send you weekly doll posts and news, plus doll care, fashion, and organization tips.

You’re also welcome to use any RSS feed or add delightfulworldofdolls.com to your WordPress reader—that’s how I keep up with the blogs I follow.

However, even if you like that better, I would still recommend subscribing to the email list so you can receive the exclusive stuff.

Q: I’m a parent. Is the content on this site safe for my child?
A: Yes! Only clean, kid-friendly, and God-honoring content is posted on Delightful World of Dolls.

I do host sidebar ads, linking to amazon.com, that I have very minimal control over—Amazon chooses these ads based on keywords in my posts or pages.

If you see an ad that looks like it links to inappropriate content, please contact me right away and I’ll take care of it.

You can also hover over the ad until a flag appears in the corner. Click on it to report the ad.

Comments are moderated; any comment that appears is approved by me. I only approve clean, kid-friendly comments.

Links I include in posts are usually to other clean sites, such as other doll blogs I visit myself.

But anything linking to YouTube, for example, like a link to one of my videos, is expressly stated as such, and you click these links at your own risk.

Q: Can you do a review on a certain doll?
A: If it’s a doll I have, certainly! Just contact me and I will reply and give you a detailed review.

Q: Do you recommend __________ (name of doll)?
A: If I have the doll, yes! If I don’t, I really wouldn’t know. XD

Q: How do you make stopmotions?
A: I take a picture of my subject, move her a little, take a picture, move her a little, and so on. When I play it back together in an editing software, it looks like she’s moving on her own.

Q: Where can I watch your stopmotions?
A: You can see them here, because I’ll post the video when I’m done. To see all my videos, click here to go to the video category. You can also watch them at the DWOD YouTube channel.

Q: What editing software/program do you use to make stopmotions?
A: I use a program called iStopMotion. Then I export the scene and upload it into iMovie, where I put the scenes together and add music and such.

Q: Can I make a stopmotion like this? I don’t want to copy you.
A: Absolutely! Just put my YouTube channel name, Delightful World of Dolls, in the credits.

Q: Can I make a photostory or post like this? I don’t want to copy you.
A: Of course! Just mention where you got your inspiration and link back to delightfulworldofdolls.com.

Q: Can I use one of your pictures?
You sure can! No need to ask first if you see a watermark in one of the corners and you give clear and explicit credit to delightfulworldofdolls.com.

Or, you know, go ahead and claim one of my old un-watermarked images as your own.

Not only will you have the shame of being credited with a terrible photo, but you’ll have me hunting you down for the rest of your life and you will live in fear for the rest of your days.

Q: I need help deciding what doll to get. Can you help me?
A: Comment on my newest post and ask me there. I will reply to your comment and be able to help you then.

Q: I need help naming a doll. Can you help me?
A: Of course! Just contact me and I’ll help you.

Q: Can you give me some doll play ideas, hairstyles, and stuff like that?
A: Use the search bar to search for some, or check out these categories: Doll Hairstyles, Doll Crafts, or Fun Things My Dolls Do. There’s even a post specifically for Doll Play Ideas.

Q. What camera do you use?
I use a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

Q: How do you get such nice indoor lighting?
I use studio lights (fluorescent lights with diffusers), as much natural light as possible, and a reflector.

Check out this post for a few indoor lighting tips for doll photography, if you’re interested.

Another thing I do is spend a lot of time editing my photos—if the lighting looks wonky no matter what, editing can make it look better.

Q: What photo editing system do you use?
I do general editing in Photos and more detailed things like adding text, filters, and watermarks in PhotoScape X for the Mac.

I highly recommend PhotoScape X—it’s awesome. I use the free version and haven’t found the need to buy the Pro one at all!

Q: Can we do a collab post?
I’m really sorry, but the answer is probably no. My schedule can’t handle collabs at the moment.

But if you think you have something I’d be really, really interested in, please contact me so we can discuss it more!

Q: What makes you a “professional” doll collector and blogger?
A: The fact that I make money blogging about my dolls.

I’m required by law to explain that “I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites” and to “prominently disclose the fact that I may receive compensation for referring customers to Bluehost.”

(Fancy law-compliant speak for I’m an Amazon and Bluehost affiliate.)

I make most of my money through video ads on my YouTube videos.

Q: What are all the ads for?
A: So I don’t go broke paying for huge server bills because of all the photostories! 😂

Up to 50% of the profits made from the ads on this site and at the DWOD YouTube channel go directly to our missionaries all over the world.

These ads support missionaries fulfilling the Great Comission. More information about reaching the unreached can be found here. Thank you for your support!

Q: How do you get curly doll hair to stay curly?
A: Here are a few tips:

  • I don’t brush out the hair of my curly-haired dolls; I try to be as gentle as possible with my fingers or an AG pick and a spritzer.
  • I don’t leave their hair in non-curly hairstyles for long. I try to revert their hair back to full and original curls as soon as possible.
