OK, Are you ready to hear something AWESOME?!!!!!!!! My dad just told me this this morning and I have been dying to share it with you.
OK, so, we’re going to move into an apartment in two weeks until we get our new house because five human beings living in one RV is getting awfully crowded, messy, un-organized and wrecked! We’ve got leaks, stains, breaks, etc…. So, anyways, two days after we move into the apartment, my dad has to go back to Texas to handle some business, and he has to fly there. Well, the day he goes back is exactly a week after my BFF’s birthday and we are both heartbroken (no, literally – in TEARS) that we can’t spend it with each other.
So guess who my dad is taking along back to Texas?
ME!!! YES!!!!! THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME RIDING ON AN AIRPLANE! I am SO excited. Just me and my dad, and the great awesome state of Texas!
But that’s not the best of it. Our tickets got upgraded somehow – from sitting back in the coach, to sitting in the FIRST CLASS AREA. I mean, c’mon! Talk about the favor of God! Like oh my GOSH. We get personal service, a little curtain for privacy, the whole deal! OH MY GOSH! My very first experience riding on an airplane, and I get first-class tickets! Holy moly spicy guacamole!
Oh, and, wait for it –
we’ll be in Texas for five days. And all during those five days, I’ll be living at my BFF’s house.
YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT! A FIVE-DAY SLEEPOVER AT MY BFF’S!!!!
HOLY TACO! HOLY COW! HOLY….wait none of those things are really holy, but, I’m just so excited.
And, when we come back, we close on our new house!
I have so much to think about – how much luggage will I be able to bring? Can I have a carry-on bag? Will I get scared out of my wits or will I play it calm, cool, and collected? Which doll should I bring? Can I bring stuff to keep me occupied on the airplane? Are we allowed to bring snacks? What should I wear? Should I bring my BFF’s birthday present with me, or just ship it so it will arrive on her birthday?
I am SO happy – but my brother is very sad and kinda envious…….I’m going to make him really happy by playing with him a lot and being extra kind to him. Besides, my mom promised him a fun playdate or something with his new buddy he met at Kid’s Club(our children’s church) :) while I’m gone!
I am like freaking out!
Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about ya’ll – I’ll bring my phone and take lottso pictures and be bloggin’ from my BFF’s house! Or, wherever I am at the time!
I am so happy – thank you Jesus! First class tickets on my very first plain ride, going back to Texas, living at my BFF’s for five days having the time of my LIFE, then rushing back to Florida (yeah, we’ll be driving on the way back in a moving truck?) to close on the house! SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DOES ANYONE FEEL ME?!
WHO WANTS TO CELEBRATE?!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. On a lighter, calmer note, Mini Doll Mag will be returning within the next few days! :)
To sum it up –
First class tickets on my very first plain ride, going back to Texas, living at my BFF’s for five days having the time of my LIFE, then rushing back to Florida (yeah, we’ll be driving on the way back in a moving truck?) to close on the house! SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAY! Congratulations Madi! I have been on airplanes OVER 10 times! You can bring a backpack or other small bag on to plane with you with stuff to keep you occupied! I was scared the 1st time, but it is OKAY. I reccomend bringing only one doll BUT KEEP HER out of site at the airport! You can put small bags of snacks on the plane with you. Tell the security guard that it is dry NOT WET! Wear your bulkiest clothing on the plane. But, I recommend wearing a tee-shirt and zip-up sweatshirt. I would bring the gift with you that way you are not spending extra money sending it. And you will also get to see the excitement on her face!
Thanks, Liz! Wow, that’s a lot of times to fly on an airplane! :D Thanks for the tips – I’ll definitely keep them in mind. So excited!
Wow, that’s so cool! Yay! I have flown quite a few times and it is really fun. Yes–you can bring a small backpack and one extra small bag on top of that on board with you to keep you entertained ;) You can bring your own snacks but no drinks (You can get drinks in the airport and sometimes on the plane.) I reccomend bringing gum to chew on so your ears don’t get all plugged up while you are taking off/landing, because plugged ears are not fun :( I agree–it’s best to bring one doll, and probably one with shorter/easier to manage hair and putting her in an outfit that doesn’t have any little pieces to get lost, like necklaces or shoes. I also agree that you should wear a comfy outfit onto the plane so you can feel, well. comfier, on the plane ;) This may sound strange, but when I’m in a comfier outfit, I usually feel more relaxed, which would be a good thing for a first plane ride. I also think you should bring the present with you so you don’t have to ship it and so you can see how excited she is :) Oh, and one more thing about liquid items–you have to keep your non-drinkable liquids (such as hand sanitizer) in their own separate plastic bag and you can only bring a small amount of items like that on board :) Sorry for such a long comment :(
Have a great trip!
~Shelby-Grace
Thanks! Okay, thank you – yes, I totally agree on the plugged ears thing! I get them a lot sometimes because I have an itching in my ears, and sometimes the ear wax plugs it up. I’ll definitely bring some gum to chew on. Thanks for all the advice, Shelby-Grace, I can’t wait to get back to Texas! Ahh….good ol’, familiar Texas.
Haha, no problem! I love comments, long or short! ^_^
OH MY WORD! HOLY TACO! LOL. :) Congrats, Madi! It’s awesome you guys are getting an apartment and then a house! I’ve been praying you guys would find a house and for adjusting and everything. And yay that you get to go back to Texas and hang out with your BFF! I went on a plane when I was 7. As far as I can remember, it was fun. I think you should bring Jasmine because she’s my favorite of your dolls. YAY!!!!
-Morgan
LOL! :D :P Thanks for praying for us Morgan! <3 Yes, I am planning to bring Jasmine because she's gone on the least amount of sleepovers, so this should catch her up to the others LOL! :D
You’re welcome! :) <3
-Morgan
YAY!!!! I’m SO happy for you!!!! My best ever friend moved a little over a year ago, and in December I was able to go see her for a couple days! I know you’ll have a blast!
Maybe since you’ll be in TX, you could go to the Dallas AG place!
I been on an airplane a coupe times, and I would recommend wearing the clothes you feel most comfortable in.
At first when I went on an airplane I was really scared but then it turn out fine! And if you’re in a window seat, you could probably change places with your dad if you needed, or wanted to! So no sweat- you’ll do great! Have fun!:)
Thanks Lainey! I am sooo excited!
Oooh, maybe! Perhaps for my BFF’s week-late-birthday party? XD I hope so. That would be fun, even though I wouldn’t have a lot of money to spend (I’m saving up for my summer trip to the AGP here in Florida).
Thank you – I’ll definitely wear some comfy clothes. Thanks again, I can’t wait fly! On an airplane that is lol. :)
hi madison i am ssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! happy you are coming for my birth day
I LOVE YOU! SSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
I LOVE YOU BFF!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO happy as well! By the way, I will bring my present to you in person like we agreed. I am counting down the days – about three and a half more weeks. ARG! Can’t February 10th come any SOONER?!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you! I can’t wait to be with you and Piper for FIVE STRAIGHT DAYS! Something good has come out of this move to Florida – five days straight will be the longest time we’ve spent together. Haha, and we thought the two-night sleepovers were the most exciting thing in the world! LOL! XD Love you…..can’t wait to see you! <3
Oh my word!!!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!
That is so great!!! :D
EEEEHHH!
This is so amazing! I am so happy for you! Keep us posted! :D
~Lydia~ <3
Thank you so much Lydia!! :DI’ll definitely keep ya’ll posted :D
Good! :P Here are a few tips, most airlines let you bring a small bag on the plane so you won’t get bored. Bring a small pack of tissues and a pack of gum to help your ears if they get plugged up. (I hate that :-/) make sure to bring an AG doll brush, from personal experience their hair gets SOOOOOOOOO messy on on the plane. XD Don’t bring any liquids through security, they don’t allow that for some reason. :P And they give you drinks when you are actually ON the plane. :)
Thanks, I’ll be sure to bring an AG hairbrush :D
WOW!!!! I NEVER RIDEN AN AIRPLANE IN MY LIFE AND FIRST CLASS EVEN BETTER I WONDER IF THEY MAKE DOLL SIZED PEANUTS???? *Starts bawling* I am sorry to interrupt your WOW moment, but last night my mother called to let me know that my grandmother passed away :,( I will miss you grandma betty.
Hehe :)
Oh that’s fine! I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother, Halo – I know you’ll miss her. If you ever want/need to talk, my ears are always open! <3
Wow Madi! I’m so happy for you!
Thanks, AA! This is the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me – besides traveling halfway across the US to Florida that is…
Woah, awesome! I have flown about a dozen times, but except for one trip all of them happened when I was a baby so I can’t give you much advice. (The only other time I flew was a few months ago, but it was in a private, small, bush plane. ) Yes to chewing gum though, having gum to chew on fixes the whole ears popping thing, last time I flew my dad picked up a pack of gum before we went flying. (Though I have done massive amounts of traveling to way different elevations so the ear popping doesn’t bother me anymore.) Have fun!
Thank you – I’ll be sure to bring LOT’S of chewing gum! I really hate my ears getting plugged up – if you start chewing gum before the plane takes off, will it keep your ears from being plugged up?
WOW! That is so AWESOMELY INSANE!!XD It must be so exciting to get on a plane, i’ve never been on a plane before, but if i was ever gonna get on one i would probably be very nervous. Have fun!
P.S. Izzy says: Ooh, first class :D
I know right! I am so excited! XD Thanks Mayah, I’ll have lot’s of fun! :D
P.S. Hehe :D :D :D
Hey Madi! This is great news !! My grandparents live in the Caribbean so every summer I go there to visit them. This has been happening since I was around 5 or 6 years old so I know how scary first flights can be. My Advice:
1. Bring chewing gum or order something crunchy on the plane. Trust me you will want to.
2. Airplanes have these little pull out trays so definitely bring something to write or read or draw.
3. Try to get a window seat. When your ears hurt it’s nice to have a view and it’s better lighting for pictures!
4. You usually get 1 carry on and one personal bag. Put all of your “dear things” in your carry on (like doll outfits) so you can see them without losing them and your entertainment items in the personal bag.
5. Try to relax. People say taking off is the worst but it is so much fun!
And *SPECIAL INSIDER TIP*: If your ears hurt TOO much then ask for two Styrofoam cups with a damp heated napkin inside. You will feel x10 better in 5 minutes. If it doesn’t work that means it has to be heated more. Use this. It will be amazing.
Thank you for all the tips – I appreciate every one of them, I am totally clueless about riding on an airplane so these tips really help everyone, thank you!
I’ll definitely bring my diary and write for hours about the airplane ride and everything. it will be so exciting.
5. Thanks for that tips! Do you just hold the heated napkins to your ears or what? My ears are super sensitive to being plugged up, so I’ll definitely try that. Thank you!
Hey there! You have to make sure the napkins are pushed all the way down to the bottom and folded into little disk thingies. Hold the cups up to your ears and you will feel instant warmness. Try to open your mouth really wide like you’re yawning and close and open and repeat. Lol, it worked for me
Thanks so much :D
That is so cool that you get to go to Texas! I loved riding in a plane but at first I was terrified!;P I hope you have fun!:)
-Emma-
Thanks, Emma! :P LOL Thanks I will! ^_^
I don’t know much about traveling on planes, but I’d suggest bringing an iPhone or iPad. I think they have wifi. I’d suggest also maybe bringing a computer and movie, or downloading one online on a mobile device. Gum and peanuts are a must have! Try to make sure you have all devices charged up- and bring the charger!
Maybe jasmine should bring a friend- 2 dolls are better than one! :D
Yes, my dad says I can live post from the plane! It will be SO awesome! I’ll definitely bring a charger, I love my phone and hate when it dies XD
I was just thinking that – perhaps Molly? I’m still deciding.
HOLY TACO! Praise the Lord!
-Morgan
IKR? :D :D :D
I have wierd ear problems, so I am used to them being plugged. I can actually control it easily. If it’s minor, just plug your nose and try to blow out your nose. It will end up in your ear and blow it out the pressure. Sounds wierd. But it works.
Oh yeah, I know how do to that :D
PLEASE TELL ME AL ABOUT YOUR AIRPLANE EXPERIENCE! I WANT TO RIDE AN AIRPLANE SOOOO BAD!
I will! Just 11 more days…Soooo excited!!!! ^_^
Wow! Lucky duck! I’ve been on 29 airplane rides before. 2 of them were 32 hours each! I totally recommend bringing gum for your ears, or like a notebook to draw in. I’m thinking Molly and Saige to bring! And maybe bring Molly-Anne, you could do a photo story where she’s exploring your friend’s house!
-Keira:D
Wow, that’s a lotta airplanes! Holy taco – 32 hours each? WOW! Where did you fly too? Yes, I’m definitely bringing Molly and Jasmine(Saige). Definitely Jasmine though, I hope I’ll have room enough for Molly – my dad is ordering me like a rolling suitcase thing and he says it has enough room for one doll….
Oooh! Great idea! A mini doll would be great to bring.
Yay! I can’t wait for you to tell us ALL ABOUT IT!
Texas IS awesome! (I live there lol) I’m in Texas as we speak… I mean type. ;)
Oh, I go on planes all the time so I know quite a bit about them! :)
Like others said, bring gum to chew when you take off and land, it’ll help to keep your ears from getting plugged. Also, it normally depends on the airline your traveling with, but normally they charge you for everyone carry on bag you bring, so I usually only bring one. Also, it can be scary at first but it’s a lot of fun! :) And if you feel nauseus or anything (some people get airsick, but not normally), try to take deep breaths, it helps!
